How do I sort answers on Quora

How to sort answers to Quora by votes

Quora is a great place to get advice on about anything. It's like a decent Reddit where conversations aren't turned into puns and you can't be shadowed. There are quite a few subject matter experts who contribute to discussions and provide insights. The answers are sorted according to an algorithm that may not be suitable for everyone. Quora upvotes is a Firefox add-on and Chrome extension that allows you to sort responses to Quora by votes.

Install Quora Upvotes and visit Quora. Visit a question and scroll down to see how many comments and upvotes there are on the question. Click the "More" button and a new "Sort by Voices" option will appear in the menu. Click on it and the answers will be sorted.

Earlier, Quora sorted all responses based on the number of votes cast. They gave this up in favor of a new algorithm that favors better and more detailed answers.

It might seem like an answer with the highest number of votes going to be better than everyone else, but that's not necessarily the case. A good answer posted later if not everyone votes on it is likely to be missed. Likewise, a question that has many positive votes does not necessarily mean that it is a good answer. Reddit is proof that sometimes bad answers get the heaviest ratings.

That doesn't mean, of course, that the voting system is useless. Good answers get more votes, and there should always be a way to find out which answers had the highest number of votes. If you are not satisfied with the answers rated as best by the algorithm, you can use the add-on to sort the answers by votes in Quora. The point is; The choice is yours when the add-on / extension is installed.
