Under the annual motto "Your Europe - Your Initiative", schoolchildren from North Rhine-Westphalia are invited to illustrate their wishes and goals for a united Europe with photos and short films.

Young people (individuals, working groups or entire classes) from all types of schools in secondary levels I and II from North Rhine-Westphalia can take part. The task for the pupils: What would you change in Europe? Start your own initiative and advertise the campaign with photos or short films. We are looking for photos and short films that inspire people to take part in this initiative and support the goal. The best three photos and the best short film in secondary level I and II will be honored and receive prize money. The closing date for entries is November 27, 2019. The competition is based on the European Citizens' Initiative, which gives citizens the opportunity to propose a topic to the European Commission for consideration.

Minister Holthoff-Pförtner: “The European Citizens' Initiative is the direct opportunity to help shape our European future. With the competition, Your Europe - Your Initiative ‘, we promote this design option and encourage schoolchildren to present their ideas for the European Union. I'm looking forward to a lot of creative contributions. "
