Do you believe in the power of faith

The power of faith - from right thinking and acting

Winter is a time of faith for many of us. But what should we still believe today? What can we know What can we hope for? And how do we want to act?

These are the questions that determine our life

The answer to these questions decides what kind of person we are, what ideas, principles and motives we have and thus also how we will develop. Every enlightened person who thinks for himself and is not so simple-minded as to let others do the thinking for himself must recognize that his entire life and its development depends on these fundamentally philosophical questions.

The answer to these questions should give a coherent picture, otherwise you will feel torn back and forth and you cannot really direct your will in one direction and your own development will be accordingly aimless.

Many hearts beat in our chests

Often enough, however, we pursue different goals and believe different things, sometimes even mutually exclusive. Of course, it's important to be versatile, but often we're so schizophrenic that it just tears us apart. Some live healthy during the week, train seriously and at the weekend they shoot each other off again. Some remember true values ‚Äč‚Äčevery evening, but the next day they drag them back into the mud. We all preach a lot about water and yet we always surrender to wine. We are only perfect in theory, but in practice we mostly build bullshit from front to back.

We're too gullible

Time and again we tend to give away our faith lightly. We believe everyone who looks honest, even when they tell us about the horse. Our faith is an extremely powerful tool when it comes to advancing our own development.

Faith moves mountains

Heaven is where dreams come true and if you want to experience heaven on earth, then you have to make your dreams come true. Here and now; in this life of yours and that will only be possible for you if you really believe in your potential, if you believe that you can really do it and pull it off.

But what kind of dreams are these? You should question them, are they really serious dreams, goals worth believing? Something really worth living and dying for? What do you know about these dreams? Is there any real hope that it will be realized within the realm of possibility? The critical examination of these questions is of enormous importance for every single person.

The doubt in thinking must be strong enough ...

for true faith grows out of it.

People always tend to chase fantasies or superficial goals and often they need a whole life to finally realize that they have only lived a pseudo-life and only followed pseudo-ideals, that they have been on the wrong track for a lifetime.

Faith is a very ambivalent thing. If we believe too unreflectively, then we believe ourselves to be ruined. We only see what we want to see and hide everything else because it doesn't fit our beliefs.

Faith is increasingly immunizing itself

The longer we cling to a certain belief, the more strongly all arguments for this belief crystallize and all points of criticism are increasingly suppressed. This is quite normal and the older we get with this belief, the more it hardens in our minds like the calcium in the joints that lack movement.

We should therefore pay close attention to what we believe in the first place, because if this belief is too simple, too simple-minded, too superficial, only for the general public, then you will develop in exactly this direction, the longer you do this believes and with each additional day of faith it becomes harder to question it.

The downfall of thought

As belief grows stronger, it noticeably takes over the function of thinking until it is ultimately left all alone. Then it is no longer a question of doubting, thinking and asking, just believing, believing, believing.

However, this fate must be anticipated. Faith has no place in pure intellectual thinking. It must remain free, critical and impartial. It has to be ready to be amazed, to doubt previous thinking and knowledge and to fathom the real causes. It has to ask, because whoever asks leads; he leads himself into higher levels of understanding and thus rises above the animal in man.

Today's knowledge is tomorrow's error. However, if you start to believe in your current level of knowledge, you will quickly be out of date. Not just a few scientists have felt this way. They no longer doubted what they knew, they began to believe in it. They grew old and the spirit of their spirit died out, their thinking became as calcified as their joints.

It's about lifelong learning

Only those people who are willing to learn, to ask, to doubt and to be astonished, will become wiser and wiser. Anyone who already believes that they have found their faith here will no longer consider it necessary to research any further - or at least not as far as it could possibly question their own faith (and usually that is not very far).

In this way, the frivolous belief makes it difficult for us to rise above the level of simple understanding of the world, as an inexperienced bird does when it tries to carry a prey that is too heavy for its wings to hold. The wrong belief thus burdens our development. We have to learn to let go once in a while in order to move forward more easily. However, many people do not let go. They are like a bird that stays on the ground forever because it has clung too much into something that hinders it more than it encourages it.

In thinking, therefore, it is not belief that inspires us, but doubt, interest, curiosity; rather, faith binds us to the wings of the spirit so that they are no longer able to follow their natural tendency to rise.

But apart from thinking ...

indeed doubt must fall silent. Faith is required here. Because if you have doubts about the action, you will become insecure, will stumble and sooner or later will fall. However, anyone who believes they stand 100% behind their own actions will also have a correspondingly high success rate when it comes to realizing their own goals.

The critical question, however, whether this act is really meaningful and justified, whether it leads you in the right direction, you have to critically consider and answer this question beforehand - in your thinking - and only then should you act. However, once it has come to the point where we act, then we should do so with all our faith - with our trust in our own abilities and our potential - with all our strength. There is a clear line between thinking and acting. For many people, these boundaries are often blurred and they already act regularly when they actually still have doubts. Your actions are accordingly weak and powerless and all you can gain with them is the title: Miss Success.

The successful person ...

is thus critical in thinking and believing in action.

His mind only develops if he constantly questions himself and honestly reflects on all his thoughts. Only when he opposes them enough resistance through intellect and criticizes them as harshly as possible, he will see which of them persist or are even strengthened and which are selected out because they are too weak and superficial. This is the evolution of thoughts in the cosmos (and chaos) of our mind.

However, the body can only develop if it is treated appropriately; when he is involved in actions, when he is challenged and the more we ask him, the stronger he will become and adapt to these demands, as it were promoted by them. However, in order to really be able to demand everything from him, we must not doubt his abilities or his potential in this case. We have to believe in it. Because only if we do that will we be able to realize what we set out to do.

The simple realization

If you think about these very simple thoughts, then you will come up with this maxim, which is the subject of the first part of the article and which is indispensable if you want to live successfully:

Doubt in thinking, believe in action.

Even if this may seem really simple at first, we ourselves are surrounded every day by people who act contrary to this thought and we ourselves often belong to this group.

When it is reversed

How often has it happened to us that we stood in the way of our actions with our own doubts and thus ultimately even failed and thereby even nourished the doubts?

How often have we already believed in apparent facts and circumstances, some of which we had to learn bitterly, that we should have doubted them?

How often do we see people for whom faith has so dramatically chained any active and inquiring activity of the spirit that they walk through the world with such huge blinkers that they have practically nothing left of the extremely wonderful and so far still complete the unexplored fascination of our world and no longer want to participate in it? Everything is then only explained by the original reason of one's own belief and is no longer considered worthy of questioning. What a tragic security for the mind - but security makes you weak. Only through resistance, in a conflict of thoughts does the spirit grow and become strong,

How often do we feel the nagging doubts in many of our fellow human beings who bind their limbs so enormously that they are hardly able to move, fearing that their action might fail.

Whoever lives our maxim upside down, who believes in thinking and doubts in action, will not be able to help his mind or body to develop. Weakness and unsuccessfulness will settle in here and will not leave anytime soon. A spirit that no longer doubts, is no longer curious, is no longer ready to rethink and question its entire worldview, is a weak spirit. And a body that no longer dares to take any more tests, evades every fight and struggles with resistance, is a weak body. This is the way of weakness. This is not our way.

Who pays attention ...

sees this simple connection realized on two legs everywhere in our society. There are of course the two intermediate forms:

Whoever believes both in thinking and in action can bring much harm to his fellow men and also to himself. His motives are in fact extremely unreflected and yet he has the power or at least the potential to enforce them - often enough his belief also justifies all means. It should not be questioned or doubted here, it is like high treason of one's own faith - the self-immunization of one's faith sends its regards.

The Inquisition and the millions of dead who lost their lives in the name of religious mass belief (read, blind fanaticism) are the godfathers of the fate that lies hidden in this combination. Someone may believe what they want, but if they transfer this belief into their actions and then also try to force this belief onto the whole world, then we have the salad. Then exactly what happens when unreflective idiots have power - they use it for their idiotic goals. Then they want to force all other people to also believe in these goals and since one must not doubt one's own faith, one must doubt all other people who do not believe so. They are then called enemies, heretics or unbelievers. Both history and the present prove this all too well and reveal over and over again what tragic fatalities result from it.

The other case is far more harmless, in fact extremely helpful, but still tragic: Anyone who doubts both in thinking and in action is by and large a very inquisitive, but also theoretical and cautious person. All the subtle people of the spirit who lock themselves up primarily in the ivory tower of their spirit and hardly venture into society belong in this ranks. Many scientists, artists and thinkers of all kinds are part of it and often take their doubts so far that, in their urge to question, they can gain extremely valuable insights for all of humanity. Your work contributes enormously to the advancement of our entire civilization.

However, they feel less comfortable in the world of action, of the body. They also doubt their physical potential and neglect it, do not play sports, do not act decisively and do not seek resistance. They only develop their spiritual aspects and ignore the development of their body. What is left is the very deep and intelligent mind in a weak body.

So we see ...

we have four options for dealing with the relationship between thinking and acting:

1. Doubting in thinking and believing in action (A strong mind in a strong body - an overall strong person)

2. Believing in thinking and doubting in action (a weak mind in a weak body - an overall weak person)

3. Believing in thought and believing in action (a weak mind in a strong body - an overall deluded but fanatical person)

4. Doubting in thought and doubting in action (a strong mind in a weak body - an overall intelligent but underdeveloped person)

In the crowd of our fellow human beings, we see all four possibilities represented - sometimes stronger and sometimes weaker. But three of these possibilities have obvious flaws and only one will matter to us if we are really serious about the goal of uniting a strong mind in a strong body:

Doubt in thinking, believe in action!

The mind grows through thinking and the body through action. The more urgent and intense this thinking on the one hand and the action on the other, the more both aspects of our self will flourish, grow and flourish. Successful thinking means doubting and believing that you will act in the same way.

The power of faith thus unfolds above all in the physical aspects of our existence. It is he who enables us to achieve the above-average performance that we need in order to set an above-average development in motion. In the second part of the article we want to see to what extent this idea can be empirically confirmed based on current research on the placebo effect.
