Turn off your iPhone completely

With the exception of the iPhone X, all iPhone models can be switched off in the same way. Just hold the power button down until a slider appears on the display. If you swipe it to the right, the iPhone will be switched off completely. The power button is on the top right up to the iPhone 5 and on the top right on the side from the iPhone 6 onwards.

Turn off iPhone X completely

To turn off the iPhone X completely, you need to hold down two buttons: The power button on the top right and one of the volume buttons on the left. Keep the buttons pressed until the slider for switching off the iPhone appears. Swipe the slider to the right and the iPhone will shut down completely.

  1. Open Settings> General> Accessibility> AssistiveTouch.
  2. Activate above "AssistiveTouch". A virtual home button will appear on your display.
  3. Tap the virtual home button and then on "device".
  4. Then hold your finger open for so long "Lock screen"pressed until a Switch off slider of the iPhone appears.
