IHK President Kahle resigns

Luneburg. Olaf Kahle, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Lüneburg-Wolfsburg, announced his resignation with immediate effect to the Presidium and the members of the General Assembly and employees today.

Among other things, according to his own admission, Kahle does not see himself in a position to represent the decision made by the plenary meeting last week on closer cooperation with the Braunschweig Chamber of Commerce. As President, I must fully implement the decisions you have made and represent them externally.

“I have always valued the work in the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, because the arguments and discussions were always factual, respectful and goal-oriented. This principle was often disregarded in the discussions on the subject of cooperation with the Braunschweig Chamber of Commerce. A development that I very much regret, ”wrote Kahle in his letter of resignation.
Kahle was elected president five years ago and his official term would have ended at the end of 2018. Then the regular general assembly election of the IHK Lüneburg-Wolfsburg takes place.

“President Kahle has played a key role in ensuring that our IHK is now ready for the future. This applies, among other things, to the initiative to secure skilled workers, hierjetztmorgen ‘and the cooperation in the Lower Saxony Chamber of Commerce. This is another reason why we regret his decision and thank him for the constructive and result-oriented collaboration over the past five years, ”explains IHK General Manager Michael Zeinert. The Presidium will deal with the subject of succession in a special meeting.
