We recently presented you with Google's selection of the best Android apps of the year. Now the editors of the German iTunes App Store have chosen their 2016 app and game favorites. As usual, there are separate leaderboards for iPhone and iPad again this year, but they largely overlap.

iPhone & iPad: The Apps & Games Best List 2016

Owners of an iPhone know: The range of apps is overwhelming. Therefore, the annual Apple list of the best should serve many iPhone users both as a source of inspiration and as a guide. Among the best iPhone apps and games of 2016 there are numerous well-known titles this year - the Google Play Store editors also selected several of them as the app highlights of 2016.     Memrise is a learning portal with over 300,000 courses, most of which were created by the users themselves.

    With a combination of fitness and nutrition programs, the providers of the app promise to get the user in top form.

    The app brings news in the form of a messenger - garnished with emoji, GIFs and the best links of the day.
  9. 3rd place: Bear - beautiful writing app
    Formatting functions, links, internal links to other notes, swipe gestures and more make Bear a handy note-taking app.

    TheSimpleClub app makes it possible to learn conveniently with a smartphone or tablet for school and university. Monthly subscription required.
  11. 1st place: prism
    Also number 1 at Google's Play Store editorial team: Prisma transforms photos into works of art using the styles of well-known artists.
