The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) is an institute of the University of Mumbai. It offers the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree, which is its flagship, in five disciplines. Established in 1992, the institute is located in Andheri, Mumbai, India. The college is operated by the Manjara Charitable Trust and accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education in Maharashtra and the UGC. The institute was awarded the grade " B " excellent . It has 6 floors consisting of various mechanical, electrical, IT, computer, instrumentation and EXTC departments.

Extracurricular activities

College festival

"Zodiac", an intercollegial and technocultural festival, started in 2005. Rock concerts, game events, the prom night, dance workshops and similar events take place during Zodiac. A technical festival called "Icarus" is usually held every October.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering hosts "Innovision", an annual national technical festival that shows hardware projects. "Dimension 5" is a festival organized by the Electronics and Telecommunications Technology Department.

Associations and societies

Marathi Bhasha Mandal (Marathi Language Society) was established to promote Marathi in college. The RGAA (Rajiv Gandhi Alumni Association) was founded in 2007. Established in 2002, the MESA (Mechanical Engineering Students' Association) was an active departmental committee year-round. The IEEE Student Branch is a technical society for students in all industries and one of the most active student organizations in the university. The Computer Engineering Student's Society (CESS) is the departmental committee of the Computer Branch and conducts various technical workshops and seminars among itself as well as under the student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The Student Forum of the Institute for Electronics and Telecommunications Technology (IETE) is the departmental committee for the Electronics and Telecommunications Department (EXTC). Various technical and non-technical workshops are held throughout the year. The student council is the student body that is elected annually by the school principal and student sponsors to organize the technical festival 'ICARUS' and 'ZODIAC'. The ISA student body is a departmental technical team for instrumentation students. The college also has a drama, fashion, and dance team. The drama team is also known as "MUKHAVTE ACJN". All of these have the best work experience and additional co-curriculum.

Students are offered memberships in specialist societies such as ISA, IEEE, CSI, ABIT, SAE, IETE and ASME. The MESA (Mechanical Engineering Students Association) was founded in 2009 in RGIT.

Industry visits

Every December, popular RGIT clubs hold industrial visits for 8-10 days in various locations including Manali, Shimla, Nainital, Kerala, Ooty and Mysore. It covers North and South India every other year and offers students the opportunity to learn and experience engineering sciences together.
