Perfect for the summer Make Capri ice cream yourself

When I think of fruity Capri ice cream think, I automatically think of my childhood. The cult ice cream was, and still is, at every kiosk and also in our freezer at home, we always had a good supply of Caprieis - well at least in summer. I recently discovered that you can make the fruity popsicle yourself very easily and super quickly. You actually only freeze orange juice in ice cream molds. Well, I've optimized the whole thing a bit.

I came up with this because I had so much orange juice left over from breakfast on the weekend and didn't want to throw it away, because during the week I never drink juice. So I dug my ice cream molds out of the closet and off I went. And here is the recipe:

Recipe for easy Capri ice cream

Ingredients for six ice cream molds:

  • 550 ml orange juice (without pulp)
  • 30 grams of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice


  1. Put sugar, lemon juice and about 100 ml orange juice in a small saucepan and heat while stirring. As soon as the sugar has dissolved, take the saucepan off the heat.
  2. Mix the rest of the orange juice with the sugar mixture (preferably in a measuring cup) and finally pour it into the ice cream molds. Put in the freezer overnight.

Tip: You can of course leave out the sugar, then the ice cream will not be quite as sweet.
