Do you like sweet cucumbers

Pickling cucumbers - the basic recipe

It's cucumber time and to keep it that way, you can simply put them in a couple of glasses and make them durable with vinegar or brine. In slices, quarters, pieces or whole, sweet, sour or salty, you can prepare the pickled cucumbers the way you like them best. By soaking them, you can enjoy them all year round with a hearty snack or in a hearty salad.

Important: You have to sterilize the jars and lids before inserting them. To do this, put on a large pot of water and bring it to a boil. When it bubbles, turn off the stove and put the jars and lids in the hot water, where you let them steep for about 10 minutes. You can also add a dash of vinegar.

Preparation steps

Clean the cucumbers, peel the onions and cut into rings. Wash and tear the dill apart.
Spread the cucumber, onion rings, dill and spices in glasses.
Briefly bring the water with vinegar, sugar and salt to the boil and pour into the glasses until the cucumbers are covered with liquid.
Close the jars and let them cool upside down.
Let the pickled cucumbers steep for about 2-4 weeks. The longer they steep, the more aromatic they become. They can be kept for about 6 months in a closed jar if you store them in a cool place and protect them from direct sunlight.
